[TADM: Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management, the unit in the Ministry of Manpower that handles the first stage of salary claims. It conducts mediation between employers and employees in the event of an employment dispute. If mediation is successful, parties sign a Settlement Agreement that can be registered with the courts.

ECT: Employment Claims Tribunal. A tribunal within the State Courts system that hears employment disputes. Typically, salary cases that cannot be settled at TADM are escalated to the ECT. Its decisions have the same status as a district judge. Parties must appear in person; no lawyers are permitted.
