Another theory for their lightsabers is that its similar to mace windu. Mace had a purple saber bc he was a combination of blue, a jedi who focused on combat, and red, which showed that he embraced his emotions. The theory is that baylan and shin would be yellow sabered jedi, but they embraced their emotions causing the crystal to go partially red, which comined with the yellow would make orange. I hope we get an explanation soon tho

I love the orange Lightsabers. Orange is my favourite colour, and I'm super glad they've made them canon again. I used to play all of the Star Wars video games, and I would always pick the orange saber if they had one. (Jedi Outcast/Academy/SWOTR)

In the old legends continuity, Blue was a Jedi Guardian, who focused more on the physical side of the force. Combat and augmenting their physical movements.

Green was the Jedi Consular. Someone who focused on the spiritual side of the Force. Focusing more on the meta-physical aspect. Premonitions and feeling the Force and letting it guide them.

Yellow was a Jedi Sentinel. And sentinel's were a balance of both. They weren't as good at either as their respective roles, but they sought to strike a balance in their life. (So they weren't as well versed in combat as the Guardians, or had as good of a connection to the Force as a Consular, but landed somewhere in the middle)

Red was obviously Sith. They were originally synthetic crystals, but they represented someone who focused on their emotions.

Purple, made famous by Mace Windu as well as Darth Revan, was supposed to represent a guardian who had either fallen, or dabbled in the Dark Side of the Force, but ultimately came back to the Light Side. Thus their blue sabers being "tainted" by Sith red. Turning purple.

Orange wasn't ever really expanded upon, but I would imagine that it would be similar to purple, but instead of the user being a Guardian, they were a Sentinel. Yellow + Red = Orange.

Its wild that Ahsoka was the first ever to purify a kyber crystals. Seems like something that would have happaend long before her time

Not only is orange my favorite color but it's also my favorite lightsaber color! (Although I also really like yellow)
I still don't like the bleeding kyber crystals idea, and especially for creating an orange LS.
And just like being part of prophecy I like to think these things are not only rare but special.

The thing is that their lightsabers aren't actually orange. at least not in the sense of real, regular orange. The term "Orange" is used for the regular orange color as seen in Fallen Order and Survivor where it's purely cosmetic and not Cal's actual lightsaber color, wich is confirmed to be blue, but it still bears canon significance beeing established by a canon game. However, the lightsabers used by Shin and Baylan are clearly a more reddish orange, depending on the lighting, they sometime even look red. That means that the meaning of orange lightsabers cannot be applied 1:1 to Shin and Baylan as their weapons have a different color.
However, their red-orange still might be a result of incomplete bleeding, keeping the way colors work in mind, they most likely used a green, yellowish-green, yellow or orange Kyber crystal or red-orange may just be a regular lightsaber color but with even more focus on qualities of the Dark Side.

And one thing about Kohlen crystals: Like you said, they are almost useless in a lightsaber. But they are not actual Kyber crystals, although having somewhat similar properties. Real Kyber crystals, like the ones from Ilum and Jedha, can also become orange and still be as effective as any other lightsaber color. So although it's an interesting story, I don't think Kohlen crystals have anything to do with Shin and Baylan's lightsabers, unless Dave wanted to give them an orange-ish blade to kinda reflect a Connection to the Chosen One but I'm not sure if that's maybe just a longshot.

If I had a lightsaber it would definitely be Orange. I've also been tested for them and test results sometimes came up purple or red, but, I've always been independent self dependent self sufficient and never exactly siding with either light or dark 100 % . Always in grey areas, yet thinking with both a light and dark mentality as I understand both equally and completely, but cannot agree completely with either. And as disciplined and controlled as I am, when anything dark flares up imbalanced momentarily, it's like a nuke went off. Like a Solar flare or like a Lunar burn that's radiation sensitive. But my ideas are not peaceful, and hardly harmonious, despite being aware of and understanding of the importance and benefits of such things, as an ambitious opportunist with a hunger for success and self preservation and prosperity, I strive to overcome.my own weaknesses without shame pity sympathy compassion or remorse towards my opposition . But I still believe in fairness even if it isn't represented or displayed. I just acknowledge that nothing is unconditional. Everything is situational, circumstantial and conditional. Everything is negotiable.
This has led to my survival and the times that I have known what little properties I have all the while Fully aware that such things have limitations and are momentary.
After reading all of this; do you agree with Orange being the appropriate color of choice? Or do you think I am more suited to wield red or purple?

That lighter orange looks better than the darker orange to me.

The first time of seeing an orange litghtsaber is in KOTOR 2 or 1 I forget. Revan has to slay a Krayte Dragon and after doing so he finds an orange crystal inside of it and adds it to his lightsaber

I dont even like orange as a color that much, but Orange has been my favorite lightsaber color since I was a kid. I remember a Star Wars game on like the PS2 or something and one of the characters (it mightve been Plo?) Had an orange lightsaber. I loved it.

I don't even care what color Hottie's light saber is. She needs her own show. ❤

They probably used orange crystals because they couldn’t find good crystals anymore since the Empire would collect them and use them for whatever they use them for. For example, powering the lasers of the death star.

I have a question, does anyone think that there's a difference between the orange lightsaber that Cal Kestis can get and the orange red lightsabers in Ahsoka?

I think if you have a green lightsaber and you bleed it, it'll be kind of a brown color. If you have a blue lightsaber and you bleed it, it'll be purple. If you have a yellow lightsaber and you bleed it, it'll be orange I think that the red lightsabers are when you completely give yourself over to the dark side. You bleed it all the way so when you bleed it halfway and you're still half dark half light side of the force. That's when you get the orange, purple and brown colored lightsaber.
