Arabesque, deux versions (1996 and 2023)

At the age of nine, Yuja played Claude Debussy's 1st Arabesque in Paris.

27 years later, in the same city, she played the last part again. The

comparison is moving.

Both versions versions follow almost the same tempo, but the 2023 version is more undulating and caressing, more emotional and nostalgic too. On the whole, nevertheless, Yuja is true to herself, to the simple classicism of her childhood.
