The Russian word for train station "Vokzal" comes from the London district of Vauxhall. Russian engineers came to London in 1840 to study the British rail network, one of the stations they visited was Vauxhall. In 1837 the first railway line built in Russia was between St Petersburg and Pleasure Gardens the station was called "Vokzal". The Pleasure Gardens idea was exported to Russia by an English entrepreneur and theatre manager in the 1780s, based upon the Pleasure Garden that was established in Vauxhall in the previous century.

Novosibirsk is a nice tier B city, probably a bit Charkiv style. The nearby tier C cities Nowokusnezk and Barnaul might be even more thrilling with less hipster-dom.

Train station buildings, especially in mainland Europe, are an architectural wonder.

Nice! The Vietnamese restaurant got me curious if you find as many non-Russians in Siberia as in western Russia? Thanks for the video. I think it's warmer in Siberia than where I am at the moment. 😂

Hi! Do you want to visit Stavropol or Stavropol region any time soon? There a lot of great places, Stavropol, the favorite city of many Russian writers, including Pushkin and Lermontov and many others. Many beautiful places, hot springs, the largest park in Europe, etc. It is also generally a cool place to spend the summer or winter in the future if there is such a plan.

The weather looks very pleasant now. I enjoy a game of billiards! Are the women of Novosibirsk in for the pleasure of your company now?😊

Very good what your saying around 4:15 and after that. Why do people get arrested on Russia and why people don't get problems in the west? It's just as simple as you say. People who visit the west know how to behave and are respectful towards their hosts. People from the west who get in trouble are always very unthoughtful and aggressive.

You talked about billiards being popular in Russia. Do they still play that russian variant of the game with those "mushrooms" on the table (my grandfather had such a table) and/or just russian pool-like billiards instead of the well known pocketless billiards?

Ps. That smile at 19:28 after you mention "half Serbian", I don't know if it's related with eachother but it still warmed my heart🥰

About the hatred, you'll rarely come across that when interacting with non westerners when you do it with respect. On the other hand you'll always get lectured by westerners. I personally once talked about politics and civilizations (tolerance and difference between peoples) with an American. Never have I thought ordinary humans could be so aggressive and ignorant.

Big open spaces, footpaths parks, all very nice, seems to be the planning in these cities from the Soviet times which left many good concrete legacies for future generations that can't be destroyed, or done away with .

Thanks for sharing. Very interesting and nice city. About the dust, I've seen the same thing in Winnipeg Manitoba. During the winter in Winnipeg they pour gravels on the road due to freezing and cold winter and right after around May all you see is dust. Sometimes it's even hard to see the cars in front of you. Of course they later come back and vacuum the gravels but for a month or two they have very dusty air
