this is one of the best ideas I have found out there.
cheap, easy and effective.
I want to get some water. I don't need to get every last drop from the downspout.
There are many people who are OCD about not wasting a single drop.
I am not living in a desert, so not critical about getting every single drop.
Having a simple way to harvest some water is just a bonus.

This is such an elegant solution. I went and got a 1.5 inch hole saw kit at Walmart got $8. Used a hose I already had. Thank you!

What size hose? What type of adapter is coming out of the 2" rain barrel cap?

How much leaks out when the hose is not in place?

Thats too high. The barrel wont ever stop being filled. It needs to be level.
