When's the last time you saw someone do something you couldn't understand, and you dismissed it with a label such as "crazy"?

I've had some thoughts about this, and after noticing how much I catch myself doing it, I realized a few things that may help you.

I’ve recently come to this very conclusion. It makes me more empathetic... basically understanding everyone is complicated, they can’t be defined by just one moment or single role that you usually interact with them and if we lived their life we’d probably be doing that very thing.

I've been "putting myself in others' shoes" a lot more recently so I'm not so quick to judge. I find it much easier to work with anyone in the world and keep progressing.

And like you what you were saying, it's easy to take AH's actions to represent him entirely, but it's also important to admire that he at one point did great work by being a leader for a nation in turmoil. Unfortunately, he took it in a wrong direction and now here we are today.

It beautiful. I never looked at it that way. It is almost as though people are the product of their own environment and have no choice in terms of what they do or why they do it. However, it is more complicated that simply understanding. If the individuals' environment is so terrible that they are committing an act of violence against another, then understanding them will require a response, and often a lesson (i.e. via military action), so they can understand the principle of not harming another human being. And thus, I think we can understand that the person who is to harm (i.e. a scammer), has limited understanding of other peoples' needs and well-being, and it is often our responsibility to being them up to par.
