I hate blingy dresses. For my prom I wanted to go really simple yet elegant. I wanted to wear all lace.. I couldn't find any dresses that were long and only lace, so went to the fabric store brought cream lace & under fabric for like £5 and had it sewn. My dress cost me like £20 and looked really expensive. Everyone loved my dress because it stood out. it was lace all over, including the arms and gathered at the waist. I wore a flower headband and had a white &gold bag. I Loved it. Just an idea if someone's like me and wants something simple and elegant. 🙂

On ASOS you can get cheap but very luxurious dresses. That's where I got mine. It was £75-80 I think and I love it

I was so sure the cheaper dress was actually the more expensive one, when I saw the thumbnail 😳

I got my prom dress for like £35 off the sale rail in Debenhams meaning no one else had my dress and it was still in excellent condition despite being like ninety pound cheaper than it's its original price therefore I got the best of both worlds nice expensive feel for a cheap price 💖💖

I bought my prom dress for £20 in the sale at New Look as it was from the year before. Buying an expensive prom dress is not something my parents would of cared to buy and to me spending so much is just a waste as I'm never going to wear it again. I got my hair done at a hairdressers which cost £25 and my friend's cousin who is a makeup artist kindly did all our makeup for free. I didn't get a spray tan as I'm tanned naturally and I used glue on nails from primark which I painted over and did some nail art on. My bag and shoes were cheap as well as my dress was long enough to hide my shoes so I got some ballerina shoes as I didn't want to wear heels as I'm tall already and my bag I got on ebay for about £6. My year 13 prom I spent more money, my dress was £50, bag £10 and shoes £20.

I didn't even go. 😂. I stayed home and watched movies with my parents and it was perfect.

I find ASOS really good for prom dresses, I brought mine in the sale in there for £30 instead of £70! X

£450 on a dress you'll wear one night in your life.. I honestly think a cheaper dress is the better option you can get some lovely ones at so much more affordable prices, and yes the quality may not be as high but when it's only for one night it doesn't really matter it's not like your looking for a dress you can wear over and over again

Just as a tip also if you want a luxurious dress but can't really afford to pay, if you find a design you like look on ebay for a similar one! My prom was 6 (ahh!) years ago, but I got mine imported from china at £75 for dress and delivery and the only alteration I made was adding a hooped petticoat. The year after a girl had the exact same dress as me she'd bought in our town and told me she paid £280. There are cheap options of similar looks too!

I just bought my prom dress about a week ago, I got it from Davids Bridal for about $400; I'm absolutely in love with it, it's a beaded corset bodice with a ball gown tulle skirt. Prom is only one night so I decided to go all out with the dress, shoes, jewelry etc. I look at my dress in it's bag everyday and I can't wait to wear it 😄
