Jethro's Cairn ~ Huge 5,000 Year Old Moon Shaped Structure

By request. A report on the site known as Rujum en-Nabi Shu'ayb or Jethro's Cairn in the north of Israel. Not researched and originally thought to be part of an ancient wall until recently, it was found to be in the shape of the Moon, and about 5,000 years old.

This site was explored in 2007 and 2010 by Israeli archeologists. It is a megalithic site thought to be a lunar observatory and pilgrimage site for later Sunni and Druze people. Not too far to the East is the circular ruin of Rujm al-Hiri, which is several concentric rings with a central stone mound that has celestial ramifications like Stonehenge.
It looks to be made of the same large fieldstones as this site. I wonder if the builders each derived some sort of spiritual credit for hauling a rock to the site who were overseen by a ruling priestly class? Sort of like getting a future life credit for helping to build the rock pile.

I am surprised that a pile of stones that old has not been covered in vegetation since it was built. I know it is just bare rocks, but still... Perhaps the locals have been grooming it periodically?

"Rujum en-Nabi Shu'ayb (Arabic: رجم النبي شعي, Hebrew: רוג'ום נבי שועייב; "Stone heap of the prophet Shu'ayb", that is, Jethro) or Jethro's Cairn is an ancient megalithic monument, consisting of a crescent shaped heap of field stones, located some 15 kilometers from the Sea of Galilee on a fairly inaccessible hillside below Parod in Northern Israel. It has been measured as 14, 000 cubic meters (494, 405 cubic feet) in volume and about 150 meters (164 yards) long, making it visible from satellite photos. Bronze Age pottery excavated at the site dates the construction to between 3050 BCE and 2650 BCE, which would place it before Egypt's pyramids.[1] "

Field stones are characteristically round due to glacial and other erosive effects. These appear far too angular to have been plucked from farmer's fields. They exhibit rather the apparent condition of having recently been (geologically speaking) prized from living rock. This should mean they are traceable.
