I passed on this month's and boy am I happy. The GI box was awesome! So why am I happy I skipped on it. Well, with the exception of the Flask, I had already bought the other items!

Do kind of miss the stickers. As for the Hat, well I've got more hats then I know what to do with! But I'd say this would've been the best GI box to date! Cheese! Cheese and Crepes! Lots of good stuff come out of France! I do like the work they put into the packing list!

I agree with you about the GI Box. It is the best bang for the average person's buck. After that, it's really a gamble. I would've been sorely disappointed in that particular Ka Bar. The double snaps are to make the knife jump certified. I hate Kraton. It always feels sticky. I'd rather have had a basic Ka Bar. But that is me. Have fun bashing stuff with the Fighter! Don't piss off any grizzlies! No doubt the value was absolutely there! Great assessment!

I think the RR sowbelly stockman knives are the best value for money pocket dropper you can get, always good looking and three useable blades. I often carry my sowbelly carbon classic as a secondary and something bigger in the left pocket for serious work but I think the sowbelly can hold it's own for most work.
An extra Opinel is always a good thing too.

Havent had an Opinel yet but man do they seem like good slicers for the money

Hello. I really like the first 3 items. I have several Opinels and the 8 and nine are for my hands the perfect sizes, although the 12 in a saw blade makes for a perfect extended edc saw. Also the fact that Opinels lock shut as well as open is great for a knife that can be put in the bottom of a bag with no risk of cutting anything. That knife roll would be perfect for the vacation. Storage is very hard to find. Especially here in Europe where there is less of a knife carrying culture than in the USA.
