Bobobek shares his story of growing up with a hearing loss and sheds light on the perspectives of the disabled people in an otherwise "abled" world. He connects the struggles and joys of those people with that of everybody else and attempts to provide a vision of inclusivity and accessibility for all.
Bobobek Khalilov is a 19-year-old freshman student at Webster University in Tashkent. He was born with complete hearing loss in Kokand city, Fergana region. Despite being a person with hearing disabilities, he is able to communicate with people by lipreading & read people’s emotions from their facial expressions very quickly and this sense has become more enhanced in him compared to other people, because his main form of processing information is visually.

Bobobek, you proved to the whole world that the life of a disabled person should not be spent in suffering, or that they should not only work in low levels jobs such as parking attendants. You are a true example of a person who can break any obstacles. As an abled person, my English knowledge is worse than yours.
And I believe that you will definitely achieve great things in life. I am so proud of you, my buddy

Can we add closed captions / subtitles to this video? We can provide the transcript for the speech, if the TED account can append to this video? This wild mana it more accessible to those who have a hard time understanding Bobobek’s speech.

Could you please add captioning to the video so that it would be accessible for deaf people?

Meanwhile, I think ability/disability and talents should not be used interchangeably and we should define disability properly in order to understand and address the issue more effectively.
