My grandpa passed away two years ago and this was the last place I remember him taking me.
Since 15 years ago, he took me to Lemon-ya where I first tasted okonomiyaki and every time I visit Japan (I live in Canada) we made it a tradition to go there.
I recommend to my friends and everyone watching to try out this place, it is delicious food made by the most chill chefs.
Located in Takadanobaba, Tokyo

I just love how japanese people are always so passionate and proud about their craft, even simple jobs most of us wouldn't give much thought about they often give everything and put all their passion into it.

Refreshing to see a restaurant that's been passed down to someone who isn't family! Although being a fan of the same sports team is quite close to being family I guess 🤣

This guy has a nice, quiet voice, like a radio personality even if I'm not hearing english. Nice to hear.

Japan, one of the few places where you dont need to be embarrassed about using a pre-made sauce in a restaurant. They really do take quality seriously.

"It turned out to be about 1/3 of sales"
Yall please support your local small businesses and restaurants.
Coming from a food industry worker, it hurts to hear him say that.

When I had the chance to visit Japan, Okonomiyaki was recommended to us. So we went for Hiroshima and got it there - and indeed it is one of the tastiest snacks, if not THE tastiest, I ever had. This is just pure passion and perfection!

I met a kind older gentlemen at a cafe in the Nihombashi area 2 years ago. We hit it off and he took me to a local Okonomiyaki place that made various types of Okonomiyaki—to my recollection, it was both the Osaka and Hiroshima style. I’ve had Hiroshima style before, but not Osaka style. Honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with either. It’s a great dish to eat with family or friends. I started learning to make it 2 years ago after returning from overseas. It’s important to have the correct utensils & skills to flip Okonomiyaki if you’re going to make bigger ones. My first attempts were pretty bad. But over time, I’ve gotten better at it. And while mine will never measure up to these shops, it’s a delicacy that’s rather hard to find, but not too difficult to make once you’ve figured out how you like to make yours.

Pretty awesome they can mass produce a high quality sauce like that and still cater to both chain markets and top quality food. The glaze is beautiful!
