It's basically an axe sword. The same goes for the falchion. They were designed as swords but will have the cutting power of an axe.

“You see those warriors from Egypt? They’ve got curved swords. Curved, swords.”

What happened to the Kopesh? Dude, I don't know, I wasn't the last one that used it! Check behind the couch, stuff always ends up back there.

It’s over designed. And almost every weapon that is over designed ends up phased out by something less complicated to produce.

I think you meant to say bronze is soft, not brittle. Iron while much harder than bronze is more brittle. Deformation would be common in bronze tools and weapons and more material would be needed in areas of high stress to maintain shape and functionality. Iron being much harder but more brittle would be less prone to warping and maintain shape and edge, and could also be repaired and reforged relatively easily compared to bronze once broken, making it more advantageous if the materials are available.

This is the most historically accurate video I have seen, in that I love the way ancient Egypt was a mixture of races

My fav swords is definitely the sickle lookin like the Khopesh, its basically down to the armies, with the Romans, their short swords are used for thrusting, while Khopesh users are use to hack the crap out of their enemies

The picture dipiction of what the ancient Egyptians looked like seems about right... I say it's about time us HUMANS start doing our due diligence to history and give true credit to where credit is due.... As for the Kopesh tool, did not know that that was it's name but the actual shape of a curved sword idea came from the Asiadics after the Egyptians defeated them defending Egypt or ancient kem't... The tools they left was the Kopesh and kemet adopted it...

Bronze isn’t brittle it’s malleable it deforms from regular use but is extremely easy to bend back into shape and resharpen

Khopesh can be used as a hook to pull long shields and stab with another sword or the same

Brittle?
Iron is brittle, bronze is not.

In my opinion its one of the best weapons ever made. Mostly for facing shielded opponents. The hook can be used to pull a shield or go around a shield. You can also hook your opponents limbs or manipulate their weapon.

I thought this thing only existed in video games. It never even crossed my mind it was based off a real sword. Might have to go buy one now.
