The output is clearly amazing, but as a graphics expert, don't you already miss the days where we had to have engineers implements laws of physics and optics into beautiful tools that artists could then take and dream up all this stuff. 15+ years ago I wrote a small crappy raytracer that could simulate lights and primitive objects moving through space and save them as a video. I did it in C++ despite being a mechanical engineer (student back then) and really terrible at programming, but I wanted to see if I could create images just by calculating the physics I understood. It was really crappy and it took me ages, but the feeling I got when I say the fist cube appear was indescribable. Everything now is all the same neural net stuff. Very clever, very useful but to me, the magic is really almost gone already...

tbh the next step is using a mind-reader for the prompt so it can be as accurate to what you really want as possible

As far as I know, no one (except testers) can try VEO yet. Or has Google given open access to everyone? Is it possible that the VEO 2 will produce good results once in 100 generations, like SORA? I don't know, all I've seen so far is a promotional video from Google, nothing more. It's also possible that VEO 2 needs 100GB of graphics memory for a quality VEO 2 generation, I don't know, but I'm very happy that it's developing and not a monopoly.

4:45 The chart shows a marginal improvement over Kling, but it's for the 1.5 model. I wonder how well it compares to Kling 1.6.

If anything, it's a pretty good advertisement for Kling at the moment since it's actually available to use and speculatively comparable.

The people that have fiddled with Veo2 can crank out a fantastic video with nearly every prompt. It seems like it's harder to cherry pick a bad video from Veo2 than it is to curate a good one from Sora.

I would love to try it but stuck on the waitlist
all the existing models don't really suit my usage with monthly subscriptions and having to do a bit each day, I would prefer a pay per minute of usage when needed pricing system, I don't want to create AI videos every day
