This is basically theater acting vs TV acting. In theater you have to make things very big so people in the back of the theater can see what’s happening just as well as people in the front, but because there is not as much space in between the actor and camera in TV acting they don’t have to make things as big. This also contributes to the stereotype of theater kids being very large with movements and expressions because they get into they habit of it. Both forms of acting are amazing and great to watch but it depends on where they are performing.

Tiktok DID NOT create Theatre acting, on the stage with have to overreact our faces and movements so that those farther in the back can still get a feel for what’s happening

as a drama student... theatre acting is probably easier as you can sort of exxagerate your movements but in film/tv you have to show it but not make it too obvious at the same time :)
