Most people will only be able to retrieve between 5-9 terms for the first list. How many terms were you able to recall?

Interesting bit of trivia:
I got only 6 in the first part of the test (with one wrong), but got 15 on the second part of the test (with 4 wrong).

I showed my partner the entire 50 word list in white (2:13) and told her to choose 25 words at random.
She chose 11 correctly just by random chance... which is only slightly lower than my informed selections 👍

would be interesting to see how our recall differs if we also had pictures show up as you read out the terms.

I didn't write none of this down, i listened to the list and then picked off the ones i heard from at the visual list, i admit i missed only one (Volcano), for some reason my brain didn't pick up on that word?

Once we are done with the recall task while going to the recognition task we give our participant a 5mins break, could you explain why do we give that 5 mins break?

Really cool video! I just want to point out one caveat I thought of. Some people might not perform as well during multiple choice style tests because the added "external noise" or distractions provided by the incorrect answers might override their ability to recognize information they already know. I don't know to what extent that's testable, but I do think that educators should bear in mind that different people have different learning styles and that a task that one person might find easier to accomplish might not necessarily be easier for everyone!
