Hey Sergio - thanks for doing such a great comparison. To clarify, the REV6000 is not meant to match against the VSS4 at all as we're based on a later VSS6.1 algorithm. Settings between the two have no relationship at all. So your best bet is to simply dial in the REV6000 for what it is.

it's always a pleasure to have a new video from you and this reverb inspires me
i'ts not easy ; because, relab VSR REV6000 de sounds seems clearer and TC VSS4 the reberb is slightly better..
I didn't know these reverbs

I have spent about 4-5 hours comparing these with various sources, as well as mixes. To my ear, they are pretty much too close for comparison. I prefer the UI on the Relab, however, it's a little harder to read at distance. The TC UI isn't as flashy, but the presets are much more useful, if you need to jump in for something in the ballpark quickly. I will end up buying both. I always do 😃

The transients are handled much better by the VSS4HD and is more realistic, especially the tails. We listened closely through several passes with Barefoot MiniMain 12's and also Audeze LCD-X headphones, 3 engineers in the room here and all were unanimous for the VSS4HD. The VSS4HD is a 1:1 port of the original is likely why it's so transparent and lush. Nonetheless a nice effort by Relab. They do however make an excellent LX480 reverb and also the Maselec EQ they do is phenomenal. Everything prior to 3:45 in the video would recommend disregarding.

Well nuts, I just bought the Relab at intro price but I think I like the VSS4 better in all cases, just a little. That said, REV6000 made me say "wow" and replace my normal go-to in a session, and they are really very close. You could probably tweak the REV6000 to get the results closer, and when you're not comparing it doesn't matter. A little feedback for the video, the later sounds were fine but I found the pink noise bursts not super informative, personally. If you added some more musical examples I think that would be really helpful! Thanks for doing this comparison though, I was really curious.

I always trust the original makers more, so TC wins in that aspect. Also, it sounds cleaner, more natural, less harsher than the Relab to my ears.

To me they are identical but you kinda threw me off in the beginning because you had not matched the settings. I wonder why???? Once you matched the settings at the 3:44 mark they became indistinguishable. So next time please start with matched settings from the get go because all you did up to that point is quite misleading. I'm glad I got the REV6000 taking advantage of the $70 existing customers discount. It is by far the best reverb I've owned and I have a good collection. It beats anything UAD has to offer. There are is no way you be able to distinguish the two in a mix. So if you have either one, don't waste your money buying the other.

Apologies if I'm being dim but how can I tell which one is playing? The video resolution is too blurry to read any type and both are showing an input.

Is there a reason why you choose this ugly painful sounds for comparison? Both sound very similar but in the „trumpet“ like sound the Relab version was a bit more annoying at the base frequency. But that maybe comes from the blood pouring out of my ears 😂
