Asana Recurring Tasks vs. Templates

Recurring tasks and templates are great for reminding you when to take repetitive actions and help you to define a clear process on how and when to do the work. I often get asked about the best practices on when to use a recurring task vs a template. They are similar, both can have details and subtasks built into them, so what's the difference?

Recurring tasks » Ideal for work that you need to do on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual basis at specific time intervals e.g. monthly accounting, weekly reporting.

Task templates » Better for adhoc work that comes up from time to time but the frequency is more random. e.g. content templates, client templates.
