Venezuela supresses uprising at military base

Authorities in Venezuela say they have arrested several soldiers attempting to stage an uprising against President Nicolas Maduro.

Aram…Venezuela has now seen months of protests and violence and it doesn't look to be dying down.

That's right Semin… The Venezuelan authorities say they suppressed what they called a "terrorist" attack on an army base in the city of Valencia.
President Maduro said eight attackers have been arrested and two others were killed.
A group of men in military uniform who led the uprising released a video online calling for "free elections."
The leader of the group said "this is not a coup but a military and civil action to re-establish constitutional order" and to end what he termed as the "murderous tyranny of President Nicolas Maduro".
The attack comes in the wake of the creation of a pro-government Constituent Assembly on Friday, which was widely condemned as a power grab.
There have been a series of protests for months as the country battles with economic hardship and political turmoil, including a helicopter attack in June against the interior ministry.
