the thing is, when blinks showed to non-fans that she isn't lazy and has a fire ass stage presence, it proves that she could perform best when she wants to. if she doesn't want to, she knows her fans will defend her and saying every single injury that she had. the 2018's one was excused, but recently? if she was really sick and tired she can take a hiatus rather than letting herself be on stage and perform how she feels that day. crazy how bp gives their all on coachella and not their 1000% on their own tour.

I’m not saying it’s okay to be overworked, and if you’re tired then it’s understandable, but there’s been too many instances of her just not having the best stage presence. I was at the LA show in November and she was amazing, but I feel like it was only bc it was LA and it was a stadium show and the crowd was crazy

(sorry for long comment) in my opinion, Jennie is an ok dancer and an overall decent artist. But she is one of the worst performers I've ever seen. She picks and chooses when to put in the effort, out of 10 performances, she will give you maybe 2 or 3 decent ones and just neglect the rest. her fans try to defend her behavior with her other good performances ( ie Cochella in which she was just ok and not outstanding), her being "sick", having a sprained ankle years ago, being on tour, and depending on the audience's energy. Performing is her job and people pay hundreds, sometimes thousands to go see Blackpink perform. She should not depend on her audience in order to give them what they paid for. They put out an album over a year ago after being on break for two years and is probably some of the most underworked group in the industry. Her "better" performances show that she is able to give a decent performance, but only when she wants to. That is the highest level of unprofessionalism.

i was (i still am tbh, just growing out of my k-pop phase) a blink for a really long time, but when it came to jennie's behaviour i was dumbfounded. the other three girls always give their all, but i never understood why jennie couldn't do the same. outside of that i loved jennie, and i don't think this makes her a bad person, but it's genuinely disrespectful that she sometimes (more often than not) slacks off when performing infront of her fans, but when she's infront of a new audience or her celebrity friends she can suddenly dance like there's no tomorrow.

i also never understood why her fans and akgaes tried to say that jennie can't be lazy because she has good performances. if anything they're just highlighting her inconsistency. one video of jennie dancing the way she's supposed to doesn't erase all the other videos where she's either bored to death or barely executing the choreo properly. and it's not like this is a new issue, this has been going on since quite a while now.

e/ but i feel like i should add that some people use this as an excuse to shit on her as a woman and say misogynistic things about her. you can dislike her without being sexist.

Do you know she ignored her own fans at Hong Kong (I was there too all 3 days) We were shouting "JENNIE! JENNIE HAPPY BIRTHDAY! JENNIE! " but she didn't even looked at us plus ignored so badly didn't even smiled and bowed broke my heart while we were not even calling JISOO'S name but she smiled, waved her hand and kept smiling the same thing Chaelisa also did. At first, I believe that jennie might really be sick thats why she's like this on stage but after paying really attention, when it comes to performances abroad or when her friends or there are famous people watching, she is soo energetic. Like whaaat. And that one time when she was sick on stage but the next day she was jumping up and down watching a concert. Hmmm. She's really the perfect example of priviledge idol in kpop. She doesnt even try now lol. Even jisoo who lets admit is not that good in dancing but I can see she's trying her best. The blackpink we known before is very different from what we see now. They dont even look like a group anymore. I think its best for them to just split up because honestly, rosie deserve better. She really has the eye for music. While lisa can always shine on her own as well. Jisoo can be an actress full time and jennie can rest (since she badly needed a time out for everything she's showing)
