one of my most favorite actors! her range is truly astonishing. the ability to convincingly play characters that require levity and whimsy (like giselle from enchanted or mary from the muppets movie) but also be able to perfectly portray darker/more serious roles (like camille from sharp objects or louise from arrival) just shows her immense talent. she deserves as many academy awards as she can hold.

Arrival was brilliant and her performance really brought it home. She's the focus of so much of the film (with the only other notable focus being the side character she works with and some cgi legs) and manages to carry the weight of it in a way I don't think many actors could.

My favorite film of hers is Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day. It’s a fun, canny comedy where she plays one of my favorite characters. It really shows off her charm and comedic ability.
