Didn't he pardon some guy who had something to do with prisons?

Normally he talks with enthusiasm but that sounded like he could care less about what he's reading. Hopefully some reform happens though. People make mistakes in life and those that want to change should get a chance in life after prison. Hopefully they will not just pump more money into the prison system creating a demand for more prisoners.

Sounds good. It's way overdue. Now let's hope they put their money where their mouth is.

I hope these are not just words to him and he does pardon federal felons that have had a clean record for decades after their convictions. (excluding sex offenders and animal rights violators)

Un-privatize our for-profit prisons. That is the driving force behind a lot of the laws! Always follow the money..

One of the issues that is concerning is WHO owns these private prisons? " The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been on the receiving end of public scrutiny for its controversial holdings in America's two largest private prison companies – the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and the GEO Group (GEO)"

Trump as usual in it for himself and his family. This time preparing prisons for himself and Jarvanka.

George Zoley, the CEO of GEO Group and the second-biggest investor in the incarceration industry. committed a laundry list of human rights abuses. Also Matt Sirovich and Jeremy Mindich. Their day job, however, is running Scopia Capital, a hedge fund that is the one of the largest shareholders of GEO Group. The fund owns about $300 million in shares.

Prison reform is the way to move forward, They need jobs, and careers without Employers and school discriminating, stop looking at records and start hiring training and educating.

Like Trump or not, this issue needs to be adressed to reduce recitivism. Perhaps look at the lower levels of crime with the smaller courts and youth.
