Thanks very much Dala. Here's a few tips for people after doing this myself.
1. Enable USB debugging the first time you do this, so you can see the messages in the Serial Monitor
2. Hook the lilygo up to a 12v power supply - my pc's usb port couldn't deliver enough power and it was resetting with a 'brownout error'
3. I had to set the baud rate on the serial monitor to 115200 (in the video is is 9600) to see output messages
Hope this saves people half an hour. This is a damn awesome project.

finally, if you don't see the com port in the settings,
it's best to change the cable. it helped me.

I do not need it right now but I like your content a lot - ev wise as hv ev battery wise to use them in solar power systems.
I had found the channel to late and I am still unsure where to get these battery packs you and flying tools are using to get started.

Something just occurred to me, could you theoretically use the BYD combiner box to parallel two or even three batteries?
