The Quest 3S is a more affordable option that is an upgrade from the Quest 2, but has a few downsides compared to the Quest 3.

The most notable differences include:
Fresnel Lenses, same as Quest 2 (downgrade from the Pancake lenses in the Quest 3)
Same resolution screens as the Quest 2
No hardware depth sensor
No headphone port

Other than that, the savings are a pretty big bonus if you don't mind the visuals (not the graphics) of the Quest 2 but want to play the new games that are exclusive to the Quest 3 family.

I could never live with the tracking being so crap compared to quest 2 for beatsaber, constant missies due to lost tracking paths and outright teleporting sabers. I do play faster songs in the 10nps-12nps range so i use the hardlink and no matter what I did the Q3 just couldnt keep up after the 7nps mark by comparison. Lighting, enviorment, charge, link speed, the PC itself, the Q3 updates being concurrent, everything was checked and double checked and still nada.
