Morphing Wing Masters Final Year Project

Completed morphing wing with an adaptive trailing edge of the NACA 0012 aerofoil. Model was 3D printed and is actuated using Arduino-Nano with Bluetooth.

I don’t see what distinguishes this from a standard Fowler flap arrangement. In fact what you appear to have here is more like a split aileron. A true morphing wing has a continuous unbroken skin which bends and conforms to a changing wing profile.

Sorry to sound like sour grapes, but a two stage flap on an old airfoil is not exactly a morphing wing. This would require a continuos change of profile over a distance. The maximum effect would need a change of nose profile also. Nevertheless, you have achieved a working prototype which now needs testing at appropriate Reynolds numbers.

Hello, I would love to contact you somehow. I need to 3d print a wing that could lift of around 50-60kg at speed below 45mph. I think your design might produce significantly more uplift that what I came up with, + it will shorten the wingspan needed for takeoff.

Errrr.... wheres thee Morphing part ??? Just looked like some fancy flaps !!!
I would expect a M'Wing to change the Airfoil in itself and the shape of the wing in so many ways.
Agreed that things take one at a time approach... but that was a fancy flap ...pretty much seen in most large planes.

This video explains the results of the project that you did. It was a very beautiful project and it caught my attention. I hope you can give me all the steps you took to achieve these wonderful results. I have a job that is very similar to the work I did, so I hope you can help me benefit from your own experience. I know this is a very strange request, but I would be very happy if you could help me It is better for the design to be in the OnShape program, or if there is a program that helped you with this design, tell me about it and send me ready-made files to print in a 3D printing press, knowing that the material I will use is TPU.
