EU Protects: How the EU connected experts to treat epilepsy

30 million people that suffer from rare diseases or conditions in the EU, but countries often don’t have the expertise and capacity to treat these patients in their home country. In 2017, medical practitioners representing 28 centres in 13 EU countries helped a family doctor diagnose and decide on treatment for a child with a rare case of epilepsy.
