Sorry if you're not into warriors and have no clue what's going on lol, it's not meant to be 100% comprehensible - this was more just a project for *me* because yeah

Anyway Shrewpaw is awesome, he is my son, I love him, and ShrewSquirrel is great

I worked on and off on this for like. Months, as you can tell by the old designs and overall style. Also yea the backgrounds after Shrewpaw's death were totes meant to not be fully finished bc it signifies Squilf being able not to focus on her surroundings or something like that and that wasn't at all just me being lazy who do u take me for

(ok but for real: the backgrounds turn darker and darker after Shrew's death to show how everything started to go downhill for her from there on out, which yea is very important bc u need to know I am SMART)

CHARACTERS (in order of appearance, left to right, top to bottom): Shrewpaw, Squirrelpaw(flight), Crowpaw, Tawnypelt, Brambleclaw, Feathertail, Stormfur, Thornclaw, Ashfur, Leafpool, Hollykit, Lionkit, Jaykit, a bunch of random cats
I animate/draw using procreate and edit using final cut pro. My frame rate is 6 or 12, but I tend to speed it up in editing.

I like to think that Firestar wanted Squirrelpaw and Shrewpaw to get together because, as the father, he realized how safe and comfortable his daughter felt around Shrewpaw, whereas around Brambleclaw and Ashfur she was always tense and desperate to prove herself, especially to Brambleclaw.

I love the detail at 0:26 where Shrew stayed apprentice sized while Squilf got bigger, it shows that he really did die an apprentice and had so much of his life taken from him.

As a DIE HARD Shrew x Squilf shipper I love this so much. I love this headcannon so much and now am adopting it. The fire scene with him standing between Squirrelflight and Ashfur, him comforting her after another bout of Bramble Abuse holy shit. I nearly cried watching this. I bet he spends heaps of time with Dandelionkit and Juniperkit up in StarClan and he probably hangs with Leafpool and Hollyleaf too. I love this so freaking much. The effect you put on it was stunning the song choice was fantastic. Adding to my faves playlist and watching on repeat for the next ten years

I love the idea that Shrewpaw constantly watches over Squirrelflight from StarClan, it's very wholesome. The scene where he stands by her in the fire and when he comforts her in her sleep really hit deep, because it shows his dedication to her and how, even in death, he stayed loyal to her. Damn, I really wish that he lived and became mates with Squirrelflight, it definetely beats Bramblestar and Ashfur.

i wanna make an AU now where shrewpaw lived and he was squirrelflight's biggest supporter throughout the drama in tnp and pot, and respected her in a way ashfur and brambleclaw never did. and then at the end of OOTS, squirrelflight and brambleclaw DO NOT get back together (and he is held accountable for the emotional abuse, and brambleclaw commits to becoming a better cat), and instead, she gets together with shrew and they have alderheart and sparkpelt together. you can even still make TBC work, because since ashfur died before squilf and shrew would've become mates, he would've had no idea she was no longer with bramblestar and possessed him anyway.

It’s been so long since I read the older Warriors books but the potential between Shrewpaw and Squirrelpaw was so so there. And then they killed him off :(.
They would have been good together. He was so, so much better than Brambleclaw/star. He would have been so much more loving and caring than Bramble, and I think Squirrelflight would have felt fulfilled with him.
