Lyrics:
I GOT THIS FEELING INSIDE ME AND I DON’T KNOW IF IT’S WRONG
THE THINGS THAT USE TO DEFINE ME ARE SOMEHOW JUST GONE

TOLD MYSELF THAT THE ONLY OPTION IS TO CHANGE WHAT I LIKE
BUT THAT COMES BACK TO BITE ME RIGHT IN THE YEA YEA YEA
BUT THE LAST THING THAT I WILL ADMIT IS THAT MAYBE YOU WERE RIGHT
AND I CAN’T HELP BUT WONDER

IS IT CRAZY FOR ME TO HOLD ONTO THE THINGS THAT MADE
ALL THE THINGS THAT I AM IT SOMEHOW GAVE ME
A CHANCE TO FINALLY BELIEVE THAT IM NOT CRAZY
SO DON’T MAKE ME CHANGE WHO I AM
WHO I AM
WHO I AM
SO DON’T MAKE ME CHANGE WHO I AM

FEELS LIKE I’M PLAYIN’ WITH LIGHTNING AND IT’S ABOUT TO GO OFF
THIS ATTITUDE IS UNLIKE ME BUT I CAN’T DROP THE BALL

I BROKE DOWN EVERY SINGLE SITUATION ALL OF MY LIFE
BUT THAT COMES WITH A PRICE YEA
AND WHAT I’M SAYIN’ IS,
THAT THE LAST THING THAT I SAID TO YOU IS THAT SOMEHOW YOU WERE RIGHT
AND I CANT HELP BUT WONDER…

IS IT CRAZY FOR ME TO HOLD ONTO THE THINGS THAT MADE
ALL THE THINGS THAT I AM IT SOMEHOW GAVE ME
A CHANCE TO FINALLY BELIEVE THAT IM NOT CRAZY
SO DON’T MAKE ME CHANGE WHO I AM
WHO I AM
WHO I AM
SO DON’T MAKE ME CHANGE WHO I AM

COULD IT BE THAT I FORGOT THE WAY IT WAS
BACK WHEN NOTHING MEANT AS MUCH
AND IF TIME IS JUST THE SECOND HAND OF LOVE
TELL ME WHY AM I IN A RUSH,
WHEN IT DON’T MATTER AT ALL?

Of all the times I've scrolled past the thumbnail for this video, I would have NEVER guessed it was a R&B song😭😭😭😭

For all the people asking why he's so underrated, it's because he's unwilling to sell his art and his soul for that big cheque. Independent is the only way to be. I have so much respect for this man.

*"The things that used to define me are somehow just gone"*

Painful truth when you realize that you allowed yourself to change for someone because you want them to love you more. I learn this the hard way.

This feels very early/mid 90s R&B, I love it.

Sounds like a nineties boy band perfected their music. Dope.

Crazy how this came out two weeks ago. Feels like a classic that I’ve been listening to for years.

Gosh, he’s so underrated honestly. But I’m glad I’ve been introduced to such an amazing musician

How this man is so talented and doesn't get the recognition he deserves is beyond me. A decade of GREAT music

I know that this might be a weird thing to say, but if you listened to this song without watching this video or without knowing who was behind it, you would probably assume it's from a black artist in the 90s/2000s (or even the 80s) wouldn't you lol. That time was golden, and I'm so glad that it still gets replicated to this day. It's a blessing for people like me who were born in 2007 and never got to experience this type of music in its prime. Its essence is still carried into present day. Black people's impact is insurmountable. Oh and this song is too sublime for its own good

If JMSN was born 10 years earlier and came out with this in 2010 it'd be #1 on the top Billboards list (ahead of Justin Timberlake). This deserves timeless respect.

So much respect to a real artist who products everything themself and knows his craft, from lyrics and composition to mixing and sound design! I wish there were more independent artists like JMSN. Thank you!

This song gives me the vision of a man grappling with the awareness that he truly has the free will to be more than his past, including his past hurts and experiences in general. And he's negotiating with himself - but also sometimes an external person like a therapist - to stop trying changing because he is afraid of to face the fact that he can at all. And the part that is negotiating with himself is life the devil, becoming a vistage of fear(or devil) as a means of keeping him as he is, and to compete with the fear required of making change or changes. This is illustrated as the individual level, as a man struggling to improve himself, but also as a global level of how mankind on the global scale is struggling with overcoming the cosmic or collective devil. In most cases, saying time is the second hand of love, and why is he in a rush, would be an empowering way of saying slow down change is incremental, but at the end of the song it reads like a manipulation from a devil to enable the singer to stay as they are because they have all of the time in the world to change thereby staling and staying as they are.
