Awesome story. Never got to read the comics, but I read the novelization of the entire situation. it was called the Death and Life of Superman. It's what actually gave me respect for Superman

Darkseid was far from the only villain that could go toe to toe with Superman prior to Doomsday. Brainiac, Bizarro, the Anti-Monitor, Mr. Mxy, Zodd just to name some at the top of my head.

Loved the Death and Reign arcs. Funeral For a Friend was not as good though needed as the middle arc. Death of Superman was the first moment I realized I actually like Booster Gold. I honestly don't feel it was initial intended as a money grabber by DC but they started the over saturation with the word's reaction. And the fact that a few pages sets up the fall of the Green Lantern Corps, as an avid GL fan, was mind blowing at the time.
Love your videos. Would love one on Superman Exile. The omnibus was just released and it includes not only the introduction of the Eradicator, but also the first comic I ever owned.

Just read the Death of Superman again earlier. Man. I do not give a shit what ppl think, the story is crazy. And Superman #75 is the most epic comic issue of all time. Period. It almost brings a tear to your eye, and makes you see how much of a hardass Supes rly is. Death of Superman is still the best comic ever. Watchmen is good and all, but it doesn’t compare to Superman. It’s just too Epic.


Btw, I also, cannot stand it either when certain incompetent writers try to “depower” Superman more or less, Schwartz was a complete idiot..

And another btw, mullet Superman was just hilarious after he came back lmao. Badass.
