Some of you wanted an update on my solar sun tracking system and I thought I would talk about it and the solar generator system I use as well as some bonus material about my cabin build to come. stay to the end for that.

Link to the ECOFLOW System I think would be there best expandable option....

On this channel I will be documenting my off grid cabin life and how to make life as self reliant as possible. Hello my name is Allen English and I have always enjoyed the outdoors and retired at 58 to live my dream. Along with my cabin build I will document some back packing trips as well as fishing and hunting trips. Some of the ways I will do my build will be old school, but with a mix of modern tools as well. So I hope you will watch and get some good ideas for your own future off grid life you dream of. You can do it! Thanks for watching and I will put a video out weekly.

I am part of the Amazon affiliate program and will get a small fee for purchases through my Amazon link. No extra cost to you, but it will contribute to my off grid video's by helping me fund my po]rojects. Again this is no cost to you what so ever. Thank you so much for your support.

Really interesting - have the same tracker in the box. Agree that bifacial panels will be a good idea. Also agree manual mode is a must to be able to carry out maintenance

First investment into this new property was Solar. We are not off grid but without solar we would be running our AC a few hours a day instead of 24/7 :D Keep your eyes open for some of the newer wind power generators :D

I have the Delta Pro Ultra and its great even though I dont have a transfer switch or inlet box setup yet. I will focus on maxing out the solar first.

You can overpanel in amp, it will cut overcurrent in sunny days. Never over voltage .

We are stopping in Arizona on our way back to pick up some used solar panels hopefully about 1200 to1500 watts

I also have a Delta 1300, no BT or wifi built in and a Delta II with 2 extra batteries. I use them often. Am wanting to get a 12-24\30a DC to DC Orion charger installed in my Dodge RAM and another in my car for about 450w of charging when on the go. At home they are plugged into a 400w panel each, but it's not been very sunny lately.

Al, thanks for the winter update. I'm pretty sure at this point, I wont be going with the solar tracker. I feel the $500 for the cost of the tracker will be better spent by adding an additional 600+ watts of panels fixed facing south. I believe that will outweigh any benefit the tracker may offer year round. Also, I'm going to avoid the all-in-one systems like the Ecoflow or the like, and build a component system of batteries, solar charge controller, inverter, and charger. At LEAST double the capacity per dollar, and modular. In the event of a failure, a single failed component can be replaced, without replacing the whole package, and it's infinitely expandable. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on my theory.

If there is a good running stream, turgo generators can supply a lot of continuous power. Just another option to consider. Kris Harbor's channel built one on a small stream and was getting 400W + continuous!

would it be better to have a propane generator as a backup for topping up the batteries
