RuPaul Charles and Cory Booker Are Cousins!

When analyzing RuPaul Charles' admixture results, we learned that he and Cory Booker are DNA cousins!

This makes me think about how sometimes we'll see somebody, and we'll think hey, they look like my cousin so-and-so. Maybe they actually ARE kin folk.
There's a youtuber who looks so MUCH like my mom when she was younger. I tell my mom when I'm watching her videos, that I'm watching her real daughter on YouTube. 😂 This got me thinking that maybe we actually are related in some way. The resemblance is so close.

This episode means so much to me because RuPaul is my ex-husbands first cousin which means my children are cousins to Cory Booker. Just seeing all this history of my children's family was amazing. My daughter was the first Charles born at the family home in over 50 or more years. I have lived in the family home, I spent alot of time with Ervin, Ru's father, before he passed. Mansfield LA at that time (my daughter Erinn was born in 1990), 89-90 was so very peaceful. I loved it. My children have met Ru at a family picnic years ago but they are adults now. It would be nice for them to see the family again cos there aren't too many Charles's left. My son of course and my daughter but she doesn't carry the last name. Anyway, loved this episode

I saw this show last night as as a Cuban myself I was surprised that Rodriguez who is very aware of the Yuruba religion was so unaware of Cuba's long history of slavery. Where did he think our association with the Yuruba religion and culture came from.? Where did he think all the Afro- Cubans came from.? I was quite stunned to hear him say this! Esto no está bien.
