Star Wars VI Return of the Jedi Deleted Scene: Luke's Lightsaber

The ignition sound of his green lightsaber is so badass. Easily my favorite lightsaber in Star Wars

I can see why they took this out. It explains the entire first part of the movie. Part of what makes the opening so great is not knowing what Luke's plan is or what the hell is happening at all.

What I find interesting about this scene is the implications: We know it has been some time since Bespin, and this basically implies that Vader has been reaching for Luke on a fairly regular basis. It just gives you an idea of what kind of strain Luke had to be under, having to constantly shield himself agains Vader's mental contact.

The actual cut is better. Jabba's garage door opening and the mysterious hooded figure entering is more badass

Even though this is totally awesome I like the original cut better. Luke just showing up out of the shadows in a dark robe was just badass.
