I share your aversion to liquorice root. In really small quantities it might add just a touch of complementary flavour, but I remember being in a health food shop where they stock a heap of Pukka tea and English Tea shop, and I noticed after a while that so many of the herbal teas all had liquorice root, so that they really all tasted the same. So sad and such a waste. Sigh.
