Ranking the stage themes from "Mega Man 2" on the NES from worst to best.

Still baffles me what these composer could pull off on an 8 bit console in the 80s. One of the all time best games and one of the all time best soundtracks.

A much simpler way to explain your restrictions, if the song wasn't made to properly loop for a level, then it is not being ranked. Either way still enjoy the content Aqualung.

Great video! Every track in this game is so good it's hard to rank. Mega Man 2, Streets of Rage 2, and GTA: Vice City are my top three favorite video game soundtracks.
I'd like to see how you rank Mega Man 3's tracks.

Great job with this. My list would be mostly similar, but I'd probably put Crash Man much higher and Metal Man much lower.

I am amazed at how half of Mega Man 2's soundtrack on your list is at the same positions that I put them. Then again, there really is no more fitting choice for the top stage theme on this soundtrack than Dr. Wily Stages 1&2. Plus, I'm a sucker for galloping beats.

I've never thought of the Bubble Man theme as happy. It's upbeat but done in a foreboding minor tone.

Apparently after the composer finished the themes, Capcom told them to redo all of them to sound "cooler" except for Crash Man, which is why that theme sounds so different from the rest. On top of that, the composer went on to do the soundtrack to Cocoron for the NES, which Crash Man's theme sounds like it'd fit into perfectly. I've always wondered if any of the stage themes in Cocoron were originally MM2 themes that got canned. Also makes you wonder what a hypothetical "cool" version of Crash Man's theme would have sounded like, had Capcom told the composer to change that one as well.
