Came upon this video because I made the switch from Canon 77D to Fuji X-T4 little more than a year ago. I also have a Canon 5D Mark III for any more serious photography stuff. Now I'm thinking about switching back to Canon full time by swapping my X-T4 for a 90D. There's just something about the usability aspect which makes me not quite get along with the Fuji. I miss the OVF, all that tasty Canon-glass (which can often be found quite cheap now when mirrorless has taken over) and the Canon color science. I'm honestly pretty dissapointed with the Fuji in several regards. The image quality is good, but it doesn't have that Canon magic. I find the IBIS almost unusable for filming. It's janky and weird. I had a Lumix GX80 years ago and that thing made the videos look like they were shot with a gimbal when the IBIS was on. I was expecting that, but with good AF on the Fuji, and it's not even close. I think it's a lot easier to shoot handheld video with a Canon DSLR using a stabilized lens than the Fuji IBIS-system. Plus, Canons DPAF is just so much more intuitive and better looking for video (smoother somehow) than Fujis AF.

I have a 90d and it’s a great camera however walking around a city it’s big, heavy and conspicuous so got a Fuji x-t30 and I love it. They both have pro and cons, as do all cameras.edit, I still have and use the 90d as well!

Thank you so much for this honest review. I use a canon 550D/t2i for all professional purposes and was thinking if i should make the jump to mirror less just yet or let them improve tech and give them a few more years. I was considering the 90D itself and this sort of still makes me want to stick with canon unless all the drawbacks you mentioned are taken care of. I have 4 canon lenses so another reason I don't want to switch for now😅. Loved this video and your style

the xt4 is a professional camera (now the t5 is out, but before it was the top of the fuji apsc format and they dont have any full frame body) as the gx line is medium format and so more for a niche market. Would never go to a wedding with a medium format as main body but i see many that make their living with the xt4 (landscape, portrait, product, wedding). My uneducated guess is, that every camera with 2 card slots (for safety) is pretty useable for commercial/professional photography. Yes as the 7dmk2 is the end of the canon apsc line its the enthusiast body (but you can pretty easily use it as back up body or as main, as the glass and the person makes the picture, but you ran the problem (specially for weddings) that you have no backup card in it, so when you card fail you loose everything and get a very angry client).
I am not professional and i have a 90d and a xt4, love both. I like the af more of canon (in ovf and live view) and for videos (because of the af) and the xt4 for the dials and stils (90d does nothing wrong in that regard but i love the "analog" style of setting the camera up). By grip the 90d wins.

Very good video, but the xt 4 has a mic (klinke port) it has not a headphone port (only an usb adapter in the box). Above the remote port on the left side upper flip.

You should get that 24-70mm ii for ur canon that cámara 📸 turns into a real beast. The AF becomes super fast and the accuracy excels to 90% compared to the kit lens specially in sport for fast moving subjects.

Based on your samples though, I'd say the Fuji dominates. Again, I'm still trying to get my hands on my first ever camera, so who am I to judge?
And my $180 Smartphone has a headphone/mic jack :)

So... you keep mentioning battery life but you forgot a key component here. The Canon 90D is a mirrored DSLR, and the Fujifilm X-T4 is mirrorless. Mirrored cameras have better battery because of its mechanical components, whereas mirrorless have less battery life because it uses electricity to make up for their lack of mechanical components. So, you keep docking points for the Fuji, but this argument does not really fly when this difference is due to the difference in camera type.

the xt3 not having a good screen on it was a killer. it's essentially the same as an xt4 for the most part but i just spent an extra 700 dollars because flip screen is just absolutely a must have since a lot of my shooting will be done alone. i know i could have done a monitor but good ones are expensive and inconvenient hooking up a bunch of extra shit. i was almost dead set on the 90d but literally any time you see good 4k representations of the footage the fuji is hands down better. even in this video the fuji on the left has like double the clarity and when looking at other sample footage it's basically the same thing. the fuji footage has that insane sharpness and level of detail i see on nature documentaries on netflix whereas the canon looks good but it doesn't have that wow factor to the footage.

I love both Canon and Fuji and have the 1dx, 5dmk iv, Xt 1, Xt 3, and xpro 3. I use all of these professionally as a product photographer in sportswear. Guess what I use the most... The XT1. Yes, beautiful organic images out of the 12mp sensor, and once you know how to use it properly, the AF is more than fine. Canon images are nice but unless the lens is adjusted perfectly they are always soft. No problems with softness on mirrorless. Now to buy me a GFX! Nice upload!!

Actually the Canon 90D would been perfect camera had it possessed in body stabiliser, way better video codec, C-LOG and so on, now obviously Canon cannot firmware update IBIS into the camera but they can upgrade the video specsheet, higher bitrate codec and give it C-LOG, will they do it? No cause Canon as a company is pure greed, protecting their cinema lineup by preventing users having all the video features and forcing you to buy into super expensive R5 and R6 to get basic features of those that exist in other cameras, its kind of sad how Canon cripples their cameras.
Never the less, the 90D is actually reasonable affordable compared to the Fuji but then again, the X-T3 can be had for same price, so its down to what you do more, the 90D has way better ergonomics and if you shoot a lot of photo I would go with 90D but with the Fujifilm X-T series of cameras, I would go for the video aspect, the image out of the Fujis are nice too in fact so nice that you can get away just by shooting JPEG and using the film simulations, but the Canon has a 32, 5 megapixel sensor, does it matter? Actually it can matter if you need large prints, thats a HUGE pixel count in a APS-C, never heard of, Samsung NX1 and NX500 used to have the largest pixel count on APS-C and those used to smoke most APS-C cameras when it came to image quality in the day.

How much is the Fuji vs. price of Canon also a 4thousand dollar lens vs a kit lens. Not a fair comparison, also the canon has a warmer tone to your video. DSLR vs. mirrorless. Again are they both cropped sensor.

Dude there is no perfect camera.... u buy based on your preferences...
what u shoot how u shoot etc.
and lens is always more important than body.
I just bought new 6d mark ii 😁
paid less then 90D and xt-3 🤣
