For question 20 would it always work no matter you solve for a or b first.
I solved for a by
18 - 6 =12b
44 - 8 = 36
12b = 36 so b = 3
If b = 3 then
a + 6(3) = 8
a + 18 = 8
a = 8-18
a = 10 b = 3
