For me, this track is pure love making. Quite, contemplative, a huge swelling climax, and a calm, beautiful afterglow. I know of no musicians other than PMG who have ever pulled this off with such perfection. I didn't like Bono at first... but he grew on me. This is in my top 10 Metheny arrangements, now.

Over 4 years since Lyle passed but the music he helped create will live on. Saw PMG 14 times, all with Lyle on the keys. This is a masterpiece!!

That was beautiful. The unison vocals were particularly striking, and I really liked how they passed the solo guitar off to the piano and kicked into a livelier rhythmic texture. Such wonderful playing by everyone throughout.

Just experienced the Side Eye Tour and while I loved that I finally - after close to 40 years of following his music - had the chance to see Metheny in person, I realized just how much a fan I was of the PMG and how sad it was that any chance to ever see a reconstituted version passed with Lyle's death. Thank God for the videos that allow yet another generation of fusion jazz enthusiasts to experience the amazing songwriting and musicianship of all the immensely talented performers (e.g., Rodby, Bona, Vu) who contributed to the sound that was the PMG. RIP Lyle. RIP PMG. And of course, thank you, Pat!

Saw this tour, so amazing. For me, since I have been a Metheny/Mayes fan for so long, it was epic since he brought in younger, up-coming artists who grew up listening to Metheny/Mayes. They resurrected some of the older favorites (San Lorenzo, Phase Dance, etc). What a privilege to have been alive and able to be there on so many occasions to see PMG.
