I think the reason Stammets was so upfront about their time travel origins with Adira is he knew how smart she was and that she could probably figure it out herself, and by sharing that nugget it opens her up to trust and tell a little more of her story giving them much needed Intel. I also think as soon as he saw she was a wunderkind prodigy, he was already figuring out how to keep her

I'm just surprised that Boothby wasn't still at Starfleet Academy.

Saru being supportive and calm in dire situations. Then shutting down Georgiou when she gets bloodthirsty. That was a great moment. And Georgiou vetting her girls new boyfriend was funny.

The only thing that's bugging me about discovery is how long Burnham was on her own.

They say its a year, personally I think it should have been longer like 5 years. All her character changes would make alot more sense to me

I loved that everyone got some screen time instead of just focusing on one character. It felt more like Starfleet as opposed to a standalone series this episode too.

What I found funny....the united earth beamed right through the RAISED shields of the discovery. (with the time difference I found it quite fitting)

Fantastic as always, Seán. BUT. That bridge is a '30's classic! They would preserve it as far as possible without change. If I were in charge of City Hall 1000 years from now, you're damn right it would _always_ look the same!

So, on Dilithium - The reason past Treks haven't gone into the amounts of Dilithium on the ship, is because Dilithium isn't a fuel in those shows, it's a component used to regulate Matter-AntiMatter reactions. Dilithium didn't get "used up" but could be damaged/cracked - see Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home.

Discovery has seemingly changed the playbook, and turned Dilithium into a fuel source, and as a Fuel, it makes sense to have a large supply on board.

I wish they would’ve put him in Todd’s makeup. That would’ve been great. I loved Todd the wraith. He was one of my favorites from Stargate Atlantis.

You gave a down to Captain Ndoye and Wen talked too quickly. You must have missed the shocked look on Ndoye's face when she saw that Wendy was human. Titan had lost all of its communications so they had sent a ship to Earth to ask for help. It had been immediately shot out of the sky. Ndoye was suitably shocked. Earth was a protected paradise and these humans on Titan were destitute. It made perfect sense for them to want to negotiate. Super Star Trek concept!👍👍I loved this -- that the old style "planet of the week" was Earth. I enjoy your reviews. 🖖

I love the new season and I hope we run into another federation ship soon. I hope Earth gave Discovery upgrades. I think Book got a job with Earth to visit nearby colonies and help them.

Also - your down about how quickly earth and Wen came to agreement - the earthers didn’t know the raiders were human. When they learned that they were much more willing to settle. Also your down about the bridge - obviously it’s an important icon. Don’t we try to preserve icons as they are?

Great episode, and excellent video. Great job, Sean.

guessing the GG bridge is a "historic landmark" and maintained as such. I keep wondering why they are so loose with the dilithium too. I think Stamets knew that there was no hiding from the kid. Also I don't think the crew also didn't know they were wiped from the history books after they left. Good episode. Loved the "feels".

12:38 I disagree with this. The people on Titan sent a ship to Earth to request aid _before_ they started raiding others for supplies, and _Earth_ shot that ship down. _Titan did not fire the first shot of the conflict we see on screen, _ they reached out to Earth for help after the disaster that took their self-sufficiency, and Earth _shot them._ It wasn't "easy" either! Right up until that helmet came off, the EDF captain was _completely_ unwilling to negotiate with the supposed terroris- *raiders* because of the EDF's paranoid assumptions about them!

For me, the biggest down on this episode was Earth is no longer part of the Federation and are Shoot to kill pretty much everything that approaches the planet and doesn't know about this new so-called way of thinking.
