FOR ALL INSTRUMENTS - Welcome to the 12th episode of J&J On Jazz! Today, James and Jeff introduce the "Lick of the Day" episode. On occasion, we'll try to freak each other out with a new lick. It might be easy or hard, fast or slow, great or greater. All we know is that YOU will leave smarter, sounding better, and with fuller and shinier hair. Let's get to it!

Like Jeff says: Why are you not on Jazz Wire? Amazing experience if you want to get to the next level of practicing and playing. And I'm not paid to write this. The opposite! :D Really, it is inspiring. Jeff is a very attentive, hands-on mentor! Love those diminished licks by the way.

Diminished sounds/patterns definitely have kicked my a$$ for quite a few years. In fact, I purposely set them aside and moved on to another primary focus within my practice. However, I am very aware when I hear something that helps clarify even the tiniest detail. For me, today, it was Ao7 = F7, diminished starting on the 3rd of the dominant. Heard it, learned it, forgot it, heard it again LOL
