Repairing a Torn Book Hinge Quickly on a Budget
Показать описание
Repair a detached book cover by running a single bead of aleen's acid free tacky glue along the inside top edge of the spine. I'm going to be using aleen's acid free tacky glue rather than these other acid free glues because aleen's is much thicker than the other ones. We need a thick glue and you'll see why in a minute. aleene's original tacky glue is also thick but it is not acid free. try to make the edges of the book cover Smooth by cutting off paper or gluing between the book cover and the book Block. you may choose to glue before attaching a book block to the cover. in areas should be trimmed off I leave has become detached from the book. take a small brush and some glue and glue that back together a single bead of it along the inside top Edge I'm being a little bit generous with the amount I'm putting on here. I'm only doing the top Edge because I want the spine to remain flexible and it does remain flexible in the other books that I have done. close the cover. I take a brush and I clean up any excess. I close the book for 24 hours and let it dry. spread the glue from the spine it's fine has been changed somewhat by the repair however the page is still lie as flat on the repaired side as they do on the unrepaired side. and I consider this a great. repairing a detached cover isn't going to make it better or worse
