JULIE the old door you want to paint red Why don't you strip it down to the wood. It's probably beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ also the wood is going to warm up the hallway. Don't paint it red. Strip it down. Im an interior designer and i will literally do whatever it takes to restore old homes and furniture and bring back their soul. Trust me ! Strip the door.

Your cottage is coming along nicely. It is amazing what a coat of paint does! You have a great crew painting, pointing, and their quality of labor is admirable. I would imagine the Tapestry has hung in the Diningroom since the Family moved to Mapperton, so it’s approximately 70 years and time to give the panels a good cleaning and change things around. As to the floors at the Cottage, I like the first choice, brown Earth. It’s is so warm and inviting. You will find furnishings that will complement each other. I’d like to stay there with those floors!

Julie, the first color, brown earth for sure. The second color makes the floor dead, with no life. Brown earth will bring all the floor to life even with the different tones from the different types of wood. You want the house to look like a fun, happy place. I had a floor that was stained really dark brown and I hated it. No warmth at all. Had to sand the floor and then was stained with a color very close to the first color. You will love it
