I love these old Time Team episodes. Really makes me appreciate the banter between old friends in the newer episodes. What an absolutely beautiful career these guys have had.

Wow, an oldie but a goodie. Lovely to see that this program and team have been at it awhile. For me it's all new though.

26:41 Hit the pause button and appreciate the fact that someone really knew what to do with a camera. The picture tells a story.

Tony, I LOVE you and your TEAM!! I am absolutely addicted to your shows. I'm from the US, but ALL my ancestors come from the British Isles. If I had enough time I would find out that we're all cousins. I know this kind of work is exactly what I was meant to do. I did however end up making my career as a designer and antique consultant. I'd much rather be in the UK getting my wellies on and my hands dirty.
I have one rather important question. How do you get permission to dig up such sacred ground?? You obviously have friends in very high places. Keep them coming even if they are re-runs!

Next time I'm back in London I'll have to walk this so I can appreciate it even more. I'll have to visit St Thomas's Hospital to visit the Florence Nightingale statue and walk down to the riverside.
London. What a fantastic, fascinating city she is. ❤

Wow. How London has changed since this was made. It's hard to find a current landmark in those aerial shots, apart from Parliament itself.

The thing for me in watching these early episodes is the kinds of people you spy in the trench's with a trowel in hand, like Dr Peter Reynolds, Paul Blinkhorn, Dr Alice Roberts and so on.

I can’t believe Baldrick has an interest in archaeology or is this simply another one of Blackadder’s schemes?
