I’ve heard the more situated a plant is like well rooted it is more likely to flower bc it feels more secure and wildfern has a Hoya diy spray she swears by

Hey Joy! Some Hoyas can be triggered to bloom by certain conditions like the temperature and the hours of daylight. Sometimes it can be tricky to figure out. Doug from Vermont Hoyas has written about a lot of them. He has a website.

I have like twice as many hoya as you and have only had a handful bloom. I wish I had knowledge to share!

Such an interesting topic!

With Hoyas you’ may get tired of tendril madness and eternal (re)trelissing after a while (unless you only choose the hanging ones)
Every plant has its things 😅

Theres quite a few that will bloom indoors in winter too! 🌸🌸🌸

Its nice that this video is about plants that you already have 😊
The scent is usually depending on the person, the same flower will smell different to my husband than it does to me, what other people say can be an indication though

Theres different conditions needed for different Hoyas to bloom… some trigger on light time, some on light intensity, some on higher humidity, some on warmth, some on temperature differences between day and night…
Theres not 1 “secret”
Good overall conditions, like good light, proper watering and frequent (weak) fertilizing helps

Hoya elliptica has gorgeous blooms, when you see them up close they are even better… most of it is white… but the yellow and the pink are so adorable and well placed! I hope you will get to see them soon!

Hoya Bella flowers look so pure and clean. Shes an easy and frequent bloomer when shes happy 🌸🌸🌸

Im looking forward the most to (ones that havent bloomed yet)
- Hoya coxahn 001 (pink mutant flowers)
- Hoya EPC-972 (love the colors)
- Hoya lyi types and similar ones (have a few of them and they are supposed to smell good and look cute)
- Hoya peninsularis/perak, (yellow fluffballs)
- Hoya rindu rafflesia
- Hoya scortechinii UT-001
- Hoya shepherdii (saw a good picture of them and they look so cute!)
- Hoya silver dollar
- Hoya solaniflora (white with purple and supposed to smell good)
- Hoya sulawesiana (pinkish-red fluffballs)
Theres more that havent bloomed yet but these I look forward to the most! 🌸🪴🌸🪴🌸

Theres quite a few that can bloom within a year, but others are also definitely worth waiting for… Hoyas are great!

My Hoya Multiflora Shooting Star is blooming now! I just love the little white blossoms that really do look like shooting stars!

Surprisingly the Australis has had the the best scent imo, smelled like jasmine to me. That definitely made up for the lack of character in the leaves. I’m assuming the Lisa will be the same :)

You should get yourself a Hoya Caudata Sumatra…the blooms do not disappoint. Mine did blast her first try at blooms, but then after that she bloomed again and she has been blooming regularly for me. Only downside is that the blooms only last for 3 days but they are beautiful and so fuzzy! My last Hoya to bloom for me (in Dec) was Hoya memoria gracilis. The blooms lasted for over a week and smelled buttery. I asked my husband get some of the sap on his finger and try it, he said it oddly tasted like butter. My son wanted to try it after that. 😂 Hoyas take up the majority of my collection…who am I lying to, practically all. I did go a bit crazy last year and bought a bunch of cuttings so I’m definitely more mindful of any Hoya additions as I want to grow all these Hoyas and hopefully get them to bloom. I do have a few on my wishlist. Enjoyed your video and I hope your Hoyas bloom for you soon!

Hoya pachyclada blooms pretty easily. I think mine only has six leaves and there are two peduncles. And it makes big round umbels. As to getting them to bloom, I think it comes down to them getting enough light. Some varieties just bloom easier though. Some orchids and jungle cacti get triggered to bloom by changes in temperature and light, and I've been wondering if some Hoya are like that too.

I heard if we spray hoyas with orchid foliage spray to encourage peduncles. I collect hoyas mostly for leaves but when they bloom I get so excited. Good luck!

I wish there was a tried and true method for blooming hoya. But alas, no, mine have also only bloomed when they're 'ready'. My mature plants are def. more likely to produce a peduncle, but it doesn't ensure a bloom and there are smaller plants that have def. bloomed before getting big!
