So I watched the video showing how they made this, and I was wondering, are these pieces of art shown here deep at all? I know they're layered, 2D paintings but does it require a thick layer of that weird liquid he poured in? I'm asking because I think it'd look even cooler if it was just laying flat on a table instead of in buckets or pots. That way it'd look like the depth is inside the flat surface underneath.

With enough patience he could do like a 3D printer and make a full on 3D painting. Layer by layer.
