Great videos. In the 80s AND 90s I used to flip police cars and other fleet vehicles. My house used to look like a police station.

I used to buy police crown vics at municipal auctions in NM for around $1000 each with 100K miles on them. I used them as cabs and one point I had 13 of them on the road. I typically ran them up to 500, 000 miles before I'd sell them off. Police crown vics (Interceptors) have P71 in the VIN vs civilian ones that have P73 in their VINs.

Awesome video! Love seeing all the crown vics. I have owned 3. The fastest was my 1998. Old mighigan state police cruiser, miss that car, lol.

Cool auction! Some good deals on some of those Vic's. To bad you didn't pick one up. One of your best vids imo. Thanks!

As a vic owner myself this is pretty much heaven for me especially with some of those prices which aren't bad at all

Thanks so much! I went to the auction after watching your tutorial and bought a 2011 Crown Vic. I used your advice and bought a jump starter beforehand. It really made a difference and allowed me to quickly filter out the lemons.

Most of our general duty patrol units in Brisbane Australia are Camry Hybrids, they are retired at 4 years or or 130, 000k

Just got myself a 2005 Ford Five Hundred from GovDeals and I'm trying to sell my 2003 Crown Victoria with 121k miles. Marketplace sucks but I would be happy to get $800

Just an FYI, you could get a 9C1 Caprice police package in 94-96 with the small 4.3 V8. Here in Denver the city cars often had the 4.3 but the cars stationed at the airport had the 5.7 engines.

Alot of the Police Charger's are 6 Cylinder's for that reason you explained about the idling

I miss the live auctions. My public auction changed to online during Covid and never changed back. I have 3 clean, rust free P71's with cruise control that were deputy sheriff take home cars!

4.3 v6 Chevy was a popular engine used in yellow New York City taxicabs back in the day.

Hard to believe they still run Crown Vics. Newest ones are what, 13 years old? Great cars though, what a shame they don’t make them any more.

This is such an eye opener. Thanks for the insight on these actions. I have to locate my police auctions in my area

Looks like one of the MCSO used by the warrants unit I recall seeing 5 of them a few years ago all black. Guess sold over on the west side auction ???

The 5.3 powered 2007-14 Tahoes suffer from cam failures similar to the Chargers. The active fuel management system was a flawed design the led to premature engine failure. Let's not even get into the 6 speed transmission issues.
