I used the Frost LBG when I got it, with a standard damage build. I found shooting up his tail is best for damage. Also through his legs when you can't get to the tail.
Now I run full Sifa set, part break 3, and ice damage 7. I almost always have agro, and I just run in circles around him depending on what's been broken. If you have him spinning the same way it helps teammates predict which way he's turning.

Also for wing breaks, sticky ammo with part breaker 3. Theres no easier way to break them. Glaive works well, but on a new seige I tend to break both wings on phase 1 without allies help on them. Nargacuga 3, zora 3, thanks to nargacuga essence on Aqua lbg.

Grab that farcaster out of the chest in the beginning. If you're in trouble, USE IT! It's faster than healer, and faster to use than a max potion it seems. Also gives you a moment to breath and resupply.

When Sifa travels to the next area, travel back to camp then use the hitching post from there. You'll have some time avoiding the wingdrake travel. Or you can hit the tent to resupply, or change tools on cooldown.

Lastly, I have found eating for resistance works best. 20 fire res makes you immune to being caught on fire. And dragon resist lowers the damage you'll take from lasers. If he tries eating you, it'll take you to 1hp. Not kill you. What kills you is being on fire, or the follow up attack. So if your teams not healing you (and you're not on fire) farcaster out is your best option.

Trading in Tenderizer for Destroyer Jewels works very well. As a SnS main, I've been breaking almost 2 legs in one stage just by myself. So I find it to be a good trade off on this fight. Great tip videos sir. Godspeed

i'll break down his mistakes point by point

• ⁠he says "weapons that deal explosive damage probably doesn't matter as much". in truth, it matters very much. before breaking a part, explosives and other fixed damage get 30% reduction.

• ⁠attack up L gives you 17 true raw according to honeyhunterworld. that's nearly as much as attack boost 6. when you spend hours grinding attack jewels, the food skill is your angel. so it's not "a little bit of extra damage"; it's a lot of damage.
• ⁠eating for different food skills is at best personal preference. it's not a mistake not to eat safeguard or insurance.

• ⁠he should provide a reliable way to consistently push safi towards the boulder; otherwise, he shouldn't be calling it a mistake.
• ⁠trapping safi in the decayed ground can lower the area's energy. the siege is all about draining energy to corner it. yet he said "don't bother trapping ..."
• ⁠as a content creator for mhw, he "presume"s wake-up hit deals double damage.

• ⁠he hasn't done the testing before telling safi's status resistance. you can compare his opinion with JinJinx and Tuna's ATKT guides. They exactly tested the amount of status ammo needed for how many procs.
• ⁠at what stage to do crowd control is up to the team. it's not a mistake to do it sooner or later. different strategies can all yield the same result.

• ⁠he accuses us of focusing the wrong parts but he suggests "bullet" to the legs. safi's forelegs and hindlegs are tough against shot damage.
• ⁠he never tried bow but recommended bow on the head and he's not sure. yet he says we are making mistakes.
• ⁠tail (in normal state) is strong against cut damage. he tells us to go for it but his fifth point is about matching weaknesses.

• ⁠using poison or not is personal preference. it's not a mistake not to poison safi.
• ⁠he suggests using poison duration up but his first point tells us to go for affinity sources. i doubt he can come up with a build to incorporate all he suggests.

• ⁠using the gas on bottom level can be tricky. it depends entirely on the situation.

• ⁠if you know which part is weak to which kind of damage, hitting 100% affinity is easy.

• ⁠SnS with guard up and "a little bit of guard" being a tank? is he serious? not even lance's shield with guard 5 can withstand safi's attack.
• ⁠a full tank solely focusing on defense can be a bad idea. safi has high hp. not attacking may not be optimal.

• ⁠all elements are equally effective/ineffective. whether elderseal affects safi's hp is not known yet. A lot of this info is wrong.

I got more and more Fullbreaks when we focus the Head and Tail in the first run (+1guy with LBG that breaks Wings and Back) and in the second run all 4 Legs.. the reason behind that is that he dies to fast in the 2. run to get the double headbreak !

If you’re having trouble breaking the chest a switch axe is great for it. The rising slash and evade slash reach really high and it’s quick to do over and over. I can usually get a break just by myself while others draw it’s attention and damage other parts

The IG is very effective at breaking the back, I manage to break his backmost fights.
I seem to spend most of the time in my fights just healing my team with life powders, I now have a loadout so I can craft maximum powders on the fly, then I restock at base camp every time he moves area, luckily I have built up a massive stock of supplies for this.

another tips:
(1) "go the 2nd run with the same team you go in the 1st"
that way in the 2nd run, team can all focusing to break the right parts that haven't yet been broken in the 1st.

(2) (if back part is not yet broken) "when mounting, mount attack its back part"
"and team need to stop attacking"
because it'll easily knocked down in that state and that'll ruin the back part breaks attempt.
with GS, i only need one SUCCESSFUL mount attack on the back and when it's downed i'll go to it's back and attack it and it'll break easily.
when back part is broken, feel free to do whatever when there's a mount

In a two runs siege, I would save breaking the head and tail for the second run. As a result, the team can get tail carves and two bonus chance for very rare drops. Another tip, if you want to maximize your payout in every siege hunt, have these two skills during the hunt: “good luck” or better, and “carving master”. While it’s a safer choice to eat for felyne safeguard, insurance, or moxie, I’d rather prefer eating for lucky cat or felyne carver for increased rewards.
