Buy A 2025 Indian Scout Or Indian Chief?

💭 Since Indian announced the ‘25 Scout, it’s super close to Indian Chief in design and feature. I’ve been asked this question a lot, ‘25 Scout (101) or Sport Chief. I give my thoughts on it.

Which one you going for? ‘25 Scout or Chief?

I dig the scout but I really liked the more industrial look on the old engine over on the new one

Planning on doing a coast-to-coast tour on the '25 Indian Sport Scout. I hear what everyone says about the suspension and comfort, but people forget that folks have gone from South America to Alaska... On bicycle. I'd rather look good than be comfortable. Never minded stiff suspension. Great video as usual, Brandon.

Chief for me all day. The character and feel both trump quarter mile speed. You can make a chief more of a revver with cams. With stage 2 cams I find i love being over 3000 rpm and just gunning it. So good! The only liquid cooled engine that would sway me away would be the challenger and that will be my next bike

I’ve got a 23 Chief dark horse. With a few ergo mods, it’s the PERFECT bike for me man, I love it!

Love the look of the scout bobber but the chief might be the one for me. Both awesome bikes

Chief all the way. To me, it doesn't really make sense to take a platform built for cruising and try to make it a performance bike. The Scout is fun, but a sport bike is better at everything the Scout does better than the Chief at a fraction of the cost.

So I'm taking my base model 2022 Chief and upgrading it to be the best, most stylish cruiser on the street with power and grunt. On the side, I'll get the ZX-4RR for that fun, sporty feel (flashing the hell out of it to bump its horsepower up 50%).

My stunning 2019 Indian Springfield with the TS 111 has all the grunt I need. Just a jewel of an engine in a wonderful cruiser! But if I did have more room in the stable, a Scout classic or 101 would be cool as hell. Indian has something for everyone.

Great insight on these bikes. I have a 2019 Roadmaster with the 111. For me it just works. I chose that because I wanted the simplicity of an air cooled engine. I love the torque and smoothness of the engine, and it has plenty of power for me. Most of the time I ride within 5 mph of the speed limit. Sometimes I feel like 80-90 when the conditions are good. I never feel like I need to go over 100. So....I guess I like the torque and low end grunt best.

Looking forward to trying them out back to back next week in Murfreesboro at Sloan’s for their demo days. Love the content, man, keep em coming!

My first thought is scout 101, but I’d have to ride them both. That 101 is a lot of bike for the money

I just did this at a demo day. Scout engine is the bomb. 9k rpm redline is just crazy. The Chief 116 you can really feel the torque and it feels more stable on the road. I believe Chief has a longer wheelbase and possibly that is where the stability feeling is coming from. I would say if you want to really ride your bike hard, then Scout 101 all day long. If you want an around town cruiser, then Chief.

My little brother just bought a Chief Dark Horse and i just placed an order for the 101. 😂 I absolutely love the way the new Scouts feel, like a sport bike in a cruiser package. Im also super spoiled as i live in Minnesota so im buying my 101 from Lloyd. Can't wait until the 101 gets here but in the meantime i will be enjoying my brother's Chief.

Good insights, enjoyed the video.👍
Been riding cruisers for 43 years (No Harleys) and current ride is a Super Chief Limited with stage 2 and custom Lloydz tune. Recently went to the Indian Demo day and test rode the new Super Scout 2 up with my wife. That's where the 116s torque vs Scout was very obvious. Fun bike, but had I to put it in sports mode to get decent acceleration with 2 adults (I'm 6ft 245lbs) + wife. My Super Chief Limited doesn't seem to know and rips effortlessly light to light and up the steep mountain roads where we ride. And you're correct. 115mph on the SCL is asking a lot from it.

Risding them back to back is the best advice. I had such a hard time deciding between the Chieftain and Challenger. It wasn't until I rode them back to back that I decided I liked the Thunderstroke better so I went with the Chieftain DH.

Great video! I own both a 22 ICB and a 18 Scout. Everything you said is true... the major difference I see is the stability in corners. My Chief embraces it where the Scout becomes a little unstable "my opinion". In the end, you have to know which bike will cater to your riding style best. My advice is to buy a used Chief... they resale in the private sector for cheap. If you need a little more zip than torque then trade it in for the newer Scout. Both bikes are fantastic machines with superior technology and performance.
