But I mean, every person in the world is related by lineage from the first man and woman so we're all marrying a cousin from somewhere lol. I feel bad for them stressing out over it though.. they didn't know so they didn't do anything wrong.

They are distant enough for genetic safety & they weren't raised together for anyone to take pause but posting while not the best as society can be cruel on kids. Why bring backlash or doubt upon them, it is of social importance for people to think about what testing should be done prior to marriage or decisions on having children as w/ sperm and now egg donations you could be your own grandpa. Unless you are an artist or in a medical field that on sight can detect familial traits in face and bone structure etc there is no way to be red flagged.

Also I mean anything above 3rd grade removed (actually back in the days 1-2nd cousin marriages were also common too like when you only have/had a village to choose from) is the reason why many people have been, are, and will be related to you somehow at some point in time. Some documents and surenames don't survive historical happenings so if they didn't know it surely was a surprise after taking a DNA Test ....

If I were her...if I found out that I was related to her husband to that extent...I would stop having sex with him altogether because it is disgusting. I would just remain friends with the husband, since they are both quite close relatives. Ideally, I would also divorce because I would not want to be known as the wife who is married to a husband who is quite closely related but realistically it's hard to divorce because of all those stupid legal issues and bureaucracy and stuff.

That is very sad and disturbing news to find out, that they are cousins. A lot of people aren't as close to their family especially when the dad is getting multiple women pregnant. Then those incidents can occur where a step brother and step sister get married. If a person is close to their family as questions especially when there are similarities that is a red flag. I feel for their children mom just put it all out there. They may get made fun of and are going to be called banjo kids etc.

Funny to read all the negative comments. It is legal for 2nd cousins to marry in all 50 US States. Scientists know they are genetically different enough for children to have the same percentage of being normal and healthy as someone who is not related.
