Real shyt though. I stayed connected with my 10th grade civics teacher when I graduated and 5 years later I learned that he works 3 jobs in general along with being a father. I know some teachers are shit but other teachers need respect.

My parents would give me $20 per A in elementary, $50 in middle school, and $100 per A in high school. Especially in high school it encouraged me to take more classes and do better. When they stopped giving it to me I still kept the habit of wanting to get A’s and taking harder classes. This isn’t the only way they encouraged me to do better and help me grow, but it definitely helped.

Bruh this story reminds me of the time half of my class tried to "fix" the grades diary, I vaguely remember it being mine or my friends idea and I think other bad grade kids got involved with it, can't really remember but the gist of it was I felt shame for rigging the grades but also the excitement and impending dread it brought. Speaking of which, handing out grades to my parents had me on the verge of breakpoint, I kept silent and hoped for the best and my "defense mechanism" against punishment was pointing out the "good" grades I got and undermining the bad ones. There's a catch tho, my parents were kinda OK with me having bad grades (emphasis on kinda), the real problem was me hiding and lying about my grades so I don't have to correct them, this almost caused me my life and no I'm not over exaggerating in the slightest cause my dads rage broke on multiple occasions and he strangled me for it, shit was really traumatic for me and my mom had to come in and comfort me. I don't know how exactly I recovered from my dads rage but I have my mom to thank.

As a side note, my dads abuse got so bad I threatened to kill him with a knife as I cried the tears of despair, granted it was an empty threat cause I didn't have it in me to actually kill someone but I had to stand up for myself and put fear of God into my dads eyes, that was the first time I felt megalomanic pleasure of fear-mongery

I can relate to bad grades, my family if they see my report card I will not get nothing for Thanksgiving or Christmas I live in the Haitian household so that’s 10 times worse for me

I can relate to this back when I was in middle school and secondary school when I bring my report card I just bring it to aunt rather then my parents but unfortunately it didn't work for that long . On that day it was a nightmare every time that happens . W video Stanley.
