Thank you so much for going into such great detail on these things. I appreciate how whenever you say one is better or you like one over the other, it's always followed by "and this is why" and you showing an example. Great stuff. Really excited for your new bikes, especially the Emonda with Dura Ace!

Just got my Karoo 2 yesterday. Going to try it out this weekend. Thanks for all the updates on these. Now I know what to expect. Let you know if I have issues. Thanks for all the awesome videos.

Love the Karoo 2. The software is in rapid update phase, so you will see slot of changes over the next few months. WRT the ride deleting, just delete them in the ride screen by swiping left. It's actually better that way - safer, and less likely to accidentality delete a ride. Yes the battery life's not great. I absolutely love the data screens tho.

I thought about buying the K2, but then decided to go for the Wahoo Roam. It's the fixed buttons that got me, i dont prefer a touchscreen while riding and changing through the pages and the in/out zooming of the map, or does it use fixed buttons for that? (i'm not sure). Also i wonder how it will perform with rain of colder tempatures (the touchscreen i mean). Not that the roam is perfect, far from it. But i still have no regret after 800 km and only charged it twice and the battery wasn't empty once, i just felt like chargeing it. It is on 37% right now going strong. Another big plus over it are the leds and the settings you can use them for, i used them for turning, kom (strava) and average or above speed during the route. Not down talking the devices in the video, because they are really nice. But just sharing my thoughts.

Upper left "To Top" indicates distance to top, upper right "To Top" indicates elevation to top.
I kinda like this new feature but those percentage values for next 100 meters are sometimes absolutely nonsenses.

For me the K2 is perfect it does everything extremely well with just a few niggles like the map screen if you have two data fields above the map when you get a notification of a turn the pop-up obliterates the actual course on the map which is annoying. I going to move it back to 1 data field and see if that makes it better.

I think all routes created on the device, including dropped pins as well as route to start are considered Off Line Routes. You can stop these by pressing the red X on the top of the map screen. And FWIW, with the latest OS, i've been seeing 8% hr battery usage since day one, using a speed sensor and 1/2 the time a Di2 system. I even saw that usage last week while navigating. I agree that 12 hrs is significantly less than the 1030 (20 hrs) and the 1030 plus (24 hrs). Wondering though if it matters if not doing double centuries or a bike tour.

Can u pls also compare the stages dash climbing feature. I am looking for one that gives the most customisation. Eg show all climbs above 7 % and longer than 400m. From what i have seem they filter on over 500

Wanted to return it, but i lost the 45days return to the factory…What gets me mad the most is If you don’t have a second Sim card, paired to your phone, you can’t use Live Track! Wich for me is just unacceptable.

The battery life was the killer fo me too…im sire theyll work it out but im back on my garmin for now. Also the fact that when i set the same fields on the K2 as the garmin, i can read what the files are because the font of it is so small, same color and same contrast and too crammed in the field … yes, after a while you memorize it, but when youre hurting, your brain needs to not work hard on little things like making out what you’re looking at.

Thanks for the review.
Karoo will see your review.

The brightness level setting.
I see in different reviews settings from 20 to 50 procent.
Which level do you use ?

The only complaint I have with my Karoo 2 is that the battery will go down when it's shut off. That I don't understand.
I did like the climber feature in a recent event I did.... it helped me with my pacing.

Jon. Thoughts on the screen visibility during full sun vs the Garmin? I'm about to return the Karoo because it just isn't very visible when you're riding and having to look down quickly. Like the lap page you pulled up at 5:51 in this video. Yesterday I did it in full sun and had no idea what any of the labels were for the laps because it just isn't visible in the sun.

another great video Jon! I had 65% battery left after a 4 hour ride and thats with Bluetooth earphones connected and audiobook playing for that time via a sideloaded audiobook player and also whilst routing. I felt like the climb was pretty good. One thing though, I don't see any kind of take me home type feature or "back to start" or any way of navigating to an address (correct me if I'm wrong). Although I'm super impressed with the routing and maps having owned the 810, 820. I also have the TP 14 day free trial to use the workouts, but after that I'm not sure what I'll do and not having any other kind of unit, or what I would do going about tabata 40 second on 20 second off sessions, if I'd just have to lap and try tk remeber or write it down like the old days, does anyone know of a way to get custo workouts, or just TRAINING peaks?

I’m so frustrated with the k2, no auto lap, no Bluetooth connection to uploads activities…

I am looking for a navigation system that replaces my phone.
Phone battery life is to short and I don't want to carry a bunch of power banks with me.
Now I wanted first the karoo 2, but I don't know if it can deliver for what I need it for.
I need battery life and looking around, it is the Garmin from all devices I looked ad, that has the best battery life.
For me, that is very important, because I will not always be able to charge it every day.
After looking ad wahoo, I think that I go for the Garmin 530 or 830. The 1030 is above my budget level. But I hear that the Garmin isn't stable and reliable and that the Wahoo is better in that.
I just want it for navigation, be able to upload maps trough my phone and upload it back to komoot.
What do you think is it stable enough to be reliable, or is it better to get the wahoo with a bit shorter battery life than the Garmin?
Karoo 2 is sadly because of the battery no option.

I returned my K2 because of the crap battery life.

Totally unacceptable and not fit for purpose.
