Update: we are not married with two kids and a farm, we broke up a few months after posting this but I am glad I got to experience that kind of love, I’m grateful for the experience and I hope he is doing great wherever he is.

I can really connect to the lyrics as I'll soon graduate and go into university without really knowing what I want to do or what path I should take. As for now, I'm keeping up my efforts in studying to make my parents and myself proud. But sometimes, I look out the window and see a butterfly full of zeal for life. So free— carefree in the sky. This song is bitter sweet to me. Listened to this a lot at the worst times of my life during my early 20s, I felt like a collective disappointment and didn’t want to exist, unknowingly on the road to addiction by coercion, and other horrible shit but it was also my first time away from home and exciting. This song captures the guilt and shame yet the freedom through making my own mistakes and well, figuring it out. This song means so much to me now, and being a year away from 30 (and sober) I’m proud to say I don’t cry anymore listening to this, it’s now a reminiscing of melancholy.
